Church Keyboard Festival
Those of you who attended the April RPTA meeting may remember Karen Sultan
making the announcement about resurrecting the church keyboard festival. Karen is a rising 12th grader who has taken
on this project because of her love of...well I'm going to let her tell it. Go to this website she has designed
to read all about it: ncchurchkeyboardfestival.com If you do nothing else, read the "About Us" page...it will touch your heart.
I was surprised at the number of my students who are interested in playing church music. Ask yours!

Message from Margaret Anne Smith:
I
am creating a special committee which will be entitled "Events Coordination Committee.” The chairman will be Kent
Lyman and he will be in charge of working with the Events Office at Meredith College to schedule all of RPTA's events which
occur at the college:
- regular monthly meetings
- Young Artists Auditions
- the RPTA Scholarship competition and honors recital
- the Ensemble Festival
- any other events which RPTA might like to have at
Meredith
Kent may decide to add other Meredith piano teachers to his committee to help
him. We are all grateful to him for assuming this task.

of the music we teach, and to promote cooperative interest in our professional activities. The Raleigh Piano Teachers
Association is affiliated with the North Carolina Music Teachers Association, founded in 1959, and the Music Teachers National
